Cheek Augmentation

Having full cheeks and prominent cheekbones will let an individual look more youthful and appealing. On the contrary, one with hollowed cheeks may look aged. Cheeks can be augmented with implants or Fat injection.

What does the surgery involve?

Cheek implants can be inserted either through the mouth or through a cut below the eyelashes. Either way, there is no obvious scar. With fat injections, fat is harvested from your body, processed and injected into the cheeks immediately.

What happens on the day of surgery?

Cheek augmentation is performed under local anaesthesia with twilight sedation. The patient will be asleep and relaxed before the start of the surgery. The operation takes about an hour.

What to expect during the recovery phase?

Some facial swelling can be expected and will last for about a week. Medications will be given to you as prescribed by Dr Fok in order to reduce the swelling. Patients can consume food and drink almost immediately after the surgery.

What are the risks?

Risk include infection and asymmetry.
